The Rev Mary B. Gregorius+
Mother Mary+ joins St. Margaret’s as our Chaplain after serving in ministry throughout the Diocese of NY for 28 years, both in Parish Ministry and as a Hospital Chaplain.
Having served the Diocese of New York throughout the years on Diocesan Council, Trustees, and Critical Clergy Needs Committee, Mother Mary+ continues to serve only on the Diocesan Property Committee.
Now in semi-retirement, Mother Mary+ adds her joyful voice to St. Margaret’s, re-enforcing our spiritual strength, adding her open, and lively preaching style to the uplifting Liturgical practices of our Sunday morning Service’s.
Working collaboratively Mother Mary+ and the congregation of St. Margaret’s are determined to bring the compassion, kindness, and generosity of the Good News of Jesus Christ into a world torn by fear, uncertainty, and cruelty.

The Rev Deacon Shirley Lawson
Deacon Shirley was educated in the fields of science and sociology, receiving an AAS in Applied Science and a BA in Sociology. Retiring in 2021, from work in the Human Service Field over a span of 46 years, working with at risk youth and people facing intellectual challenges and developmental disabilities.
In addition to serving as the deacon for St. Margaret’s, coordinating substantive Outreach to our Staatsburg and Hyde Park community, Deacon Shirley serves as a member of the Hyde Park Clergy Association and as a leadership team member of the Episcopal Diocese of NY. She actively participated in the Diocese’s Mission Review Committee, a committee which guided the Diocesan prioritization of a 5-year Mission Plan Goals. striving toward healing, renewal, and living into our Baptismal Covenant.
Deacon Shirley currently serves as the Chairperson for the Bishop’s Committee for the Diaconate, the Diocesan Budget Committee, Diocesan of New York Clergy of Color, and Clergy Women of Color, Co-Chair of the Mid-Hudson Region Deacon’s Planning Committee, and a member of the Mid-Hudson Regional Counsel.
The Rev Kevin Bean
Recently retired as a full-time priest, The Rev. Kevin Bean has been in parish ministry for 45 years. He has served congregations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, as well as in Worcester, Marblehead and Boston, MA; Manchester, Meriden, Waterbury and Darien, CT; Wilmington, DE; and Edinburgh, Scotland. Kevin lives in Hyde Park with his wife, Megan.
Kevin is now serving St. Margaret’s regularly, preaching and celebrating twice a month.

David is a former hospital administrator and health consultant, has completed the 4-year Education for Ministry program. He serves on the New York Diocese’s Clergy Critical Needs Committee and the Diocese's Northern Regional Council. David’s Tomatoes Basil Soup and his blue ribbon Lemon/almond cake are often found at St Margret’s Soup Sale

Arnie Iovinella
St. Margaret’s Junior Warden
Arnie has recently been licensed as a Lay Eucharistic Visitor and is enrolled in the Education for Ministry program. Arnie is active in our local community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels, the Hyde Park Food Pantry, and the Soap Closet ministry at St. Margaret’s which provides personal hygiene products to the clients at the Hyde Park Food Pantry.

Burke is our all round person of wisdom and history. Burke is a Lay Eucharistic Minister and serves regularly on the Altar for Sunday Services.

Kevin Dorney
Vestry Member
Kevin is a 42 year resident of Staatsburg having been received into the Episcopal Church 12/24, having served as a Lector, he is now also serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister.
Kevin is involved in the parish and the broader community, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, driving Seniors to medical appointments for Friends of Seniors, working at the Hyde Park Food Pantry once a month and delivering food to clients with no transportation. Kevin also contributes to and participates in the monthly meal program at Beulah Baptist church in Poughkeepsie; as well as taking two seniors shopping and banking once a week. These are people he met doing his various volunteer activities and who have no family in the area. He gives them a place to call if they need something.

Sherman serves as an Acolyte regularly and visits a number of parishioners now residing in Skilled Nursing Facilities. He is also a generous contributor of soup to St. Margaret’s monthly Soup Sale.

Cathy McNary
Vestry Member
Cathy serves St. Margaret’s regularly as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and is a crucial link in the preparation of the Sunday Bulletin each week. Cathy is Co-Director of the Mid-Hudson Regions Education for Ministry program, a program cultivating Theological curiosity as well as Scriptural and historical knowledge for Lay people in the Diocese of NY.
She is also a generous contributor to St. Margaret’s monthly Soup Sale.

Jamie Miller

Jamie capably manages to raise an active sports family, while also regularly shopping for the Soap Closet, personal hygiene products for clients of the Hyde Park Food Pantry, and bringing to parish attention the needs of those residing in Skilled Nursing Facilities. It is on Jamie’s prompting that St. Margaret’s began a sock drive, as well as filling the need for fun items like sun hats & glasses.

Gene O'Dell

Gene serves as Chair of St. Margaret’s Stewardship Committee and Chair of our Buildings & Grounds Team. Gene’s expert craftsmanship can be seen everywhere you look inside and outside of our church building. Gene volunteers his time with grace and good humor throughout our broader community; Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen, and home repairs for those with tight budgets. There are few places you do not see Gene’s mark of excellence.

Ross Uhlfelder

Ross serves St. Margaret’s as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and Lay Eucharistic Visitor. Ross is also part of the team that prepares and prints our Bulletins each Sunday. In addition to functioning as liaison to the Dutchess Interfaith Council, Ross keeps St. Margaret’s connected to Diocesan Communications and notes from our Diocesan Bishop, +The Rt. Rev. Matthew Heyd, and news from Rural Migrant Ministry.

John assists the Building & Grounds team, particulary with Summer maintenance needs. John also welcomes our congregation to Worship as an Usher and Greeter, and is instrumental in integrating newcomers into the parish.

Elisabeth Sheehey
Clerk of the Vestry
Elizabeth and her husband moved to the Hudson Valley in 2017, after she retired from her psychotherapy practice and 30 years of teaching graduate school at Fordham University. She now volunteers at Holy Cross Monastery in their library, and gives occasional talks on early church art and architecture, the stories told in stone and wood for a population where very few could read.

IN MEMORY OF FR. FRANK ALAGNA
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Fr. Frank Alagna, a devoted priest and tireless advocate for justice. Fr. Frank had a long and meaningful history with St. Margaret’s Church and was a pillar of the Hudson Valley community for decades. As a founding member of the Ulster Immigrant Defense Network, he worked tirelessly to support and uplift immigrants and marginalized populations. His ministry and grassroots work were inseparable—through that union, he touched countless lives and inspired generations of parishioners and neighbors alike. Fr. Frank’s compassion, dedication, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed for years to come.
